Music by The Piano Brothers

It is with sorrow (and joy,  because she is with her Heavenly Father and husband) the passing of our beloved mother and grandmother, Ruth M. Crawford who was born, February 9, 1930 in Loganton, PA to the late Paul and Elizabeth Weaver Stover.

She and her late husband Richard spent a lifetime of giving and loving for the Lord. Ruth will be deeply missed by her son, Richard (Bonita) Crawford, her daughter, Ricky (Gene) Sellers and her sister/daughter, Sharon (Lynn) Homan.  Ruth will also be missed by her sisters, Patty, Judy and brothers, Glenn, John and Steve and her grandchildren, Kristy, Travis, Jenna, Phillip, Kellie & Beth Ann and all their children and so many nieces and nephews who loved her like a grandmother.

Along with her husband she preceded by her brothers Paul, Robert and Reynold Stover. To all of her family she was known as Sis or Aunt Sis.  The family have so many wonderful memories going to her home and sitting around the kitchen table, eating, talking, playing cards and laughing.

Ruth molded a love for her Savior to family and friends.  Compassion was her constant companion.  She was an organizer, hard worker and a great example of family values.  Ruth also believed family is not just an address it’s all about relationships and caring.  Ruth held a few jobs but she knew many in the community because she was the friendly card lady working in various stores around the town, placing greeting cards for Hallmark and American Greetings.

Her earnest wish would be for those who read this that they come to know the Lord Jesus as their Savior.  Romans 3:23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. Eph 2:4,5,8,9 (NLT) but God is so rich in mercy and he loved us so much that even though we were dead because of our sins, he gave us life when he raised Christ from the dead (it is only by God’s grace that you have been saved).  God saved you by his grace when you believed and you can’t take credit for this.  It is a gift of God.  Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boost about it.

Memorial services for Ruth M. Crawford will be held Saturday, November 11, 2017 at 2:30 PM in the Lock Haven First Baptist Church, 210 North Vesper St., Lock Haven.  Officiating will be Pastor Doug Packard of the church and her brother, Steve Stover.  The family suggests in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Ruth’s name to the Lock Haven First Baptist Church or the New Tribes Mission 1000 East First St., Sanford, FL 32771-1487

There are no words to ease your pain but may it help to know that others care. She was a beautiful lady and I have so many happy memories of her and her brothers and sisters growing up together. I will remember her laugh forever. Thoughts and prayers for her family.

Ruth was a beautiful soul and now she has returned home... I will always remember her laugh! I came to know the Lord through Ruth when I was 9 years old and am so grateful for that... so many memories of Ruth and Dick and I hope when it's my turn to return home they will be there smiling at me saying, "welcome home"!
Love and prayers to the family, she will always be a part of your hearts
