Harold J.(Joe) Geise, Jr. , 677 Weaver Hill Road, Lock Haven, PA died peacefully at The Gatehouse Hospice Unit in Williamsport, PA on February 27, 2018 at the age of 82.

He is survived by his wife, Betty; two sons, H. Joseph Geise, III (Nan), and Dr. Steven W. Geise(Patrice); three grandchildren, Joseph P. Geise (Laura), Neysa Walker (Justin) and Dr. Evan Geise; two great-grandchildren, Ryan and Catherine Geise; three half sisters, Wava Crossin (Randy), Wanda Smith (William),and Edna Donovan (Michael); a step sister, Faye Kephart, and a step brother, Paul Eichenlaub. He was preceded in death by his brother, Blaine.

Joe was born in Lock Haven on April 6, 1935 to Harold J. Geise, Sr. and Mary Glossner Geise Spangler and was raised by Albert and Mary Mauer, to whom he was eternally grateful. He was a 1953 graduate of Lock Haven High School. On June 11, 1954 he married his high school sweetheart, Betty J. Rogers. He worked as a millwright at Hammermill Paper Company and Reynolds Metals Company for 41 years.

Joe served his community as mayor of Flemington, and was a member of La Fayette Lodge #199 Masonic Lodge, and the Lock Haven High School Booster Club. He will be remembered for his love of sports, coaching Little League baseball for many years, and his decades long support of athletics at Lock Haven, and later Keystone Central High School.

At Joe’s request, there will be no services. Contributions may be made to The Gatehouse Hospice Unit.
