Olive Shields Miller, 84, formerly of the Rich Manor in Woolrich passed away April 1, 2018 at the Susque View Home where she had resided. She was born November 19, 1933 in Jersey Shore to Harry B. and Claire Forcey Shields.

Olive was a graduate of the Jersey Shore High School and the Allentown Eastern Pilgrim College. She had worked with the child evangelism program for many years. Olive and her husband were owners and operators of Millers Gift and Bible Shop in Lock Haven from 1972 until retirement in 1999 when the store closed. Olive enjoyed baking cakes and decorating them out of her home for over fifty years. Olive was a member of the Bible Mission Church in Lock Haven where she taught Sunday school for a number of years

Olive was married to Clifford A. Miller who passed away July 8, 2004.

Olive is survived by one son; Wayne A. (Judy) Miller of Oval, one daughter; Lynda J. (Lynn) Bowersox of Milheim, six grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, Olive was preceded in death by four brothers; Dale C. , H. Richard , Ralph J., and Donald Lee Shields. Five sisters; Bernice Barner, Phyllis Eggler, Doris Barner, Evelyn Clark, and Velda Mims

Funeral services for Olive Shields Miller will be held Thursday, April 5, 2018 at 11:00 AM at the Yost-Gedon Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, LLC, 121 W. Main St. Lock Haven Officiating will be Pastor Nathan Purdy of the Bible Mission Church.

Family and friends will be received at the funeral home Wednesday, April 4, 2018 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Interment will be in the Woolrich Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorials can be made in Olive‘s name to Centre County Paws, 1401 Trout Road, State College, PA 16801.

Olive was a big help to me when I was pastor of the Presbyterian Church in Mill Hall, 1975-1997. She helped me select materials for our Sunday School and Vacation Bible School. May Jesus Christ now deliver her into the loving heart of God. -Lee McCardle, State College
