Larry Gene Zell, 68, of 810 E. Water St. Lock Haven, PA. passed away July 15, 2015 at his residence. He was born in Lock Haven, PA.  August 11, 1946 to the late W. Dale and Gladys Weaver Zell.   Larry had attended the Flemington First Church of Christ and had been active with functions at the Lock Haven Salvation Army. He was a 1964 graduate of the Lock Haven High School then had entered the US Navy having served four years during the Vietnam Era. Larry  had worked for the Jersey Shore Steel for a number of years and was last employed as a truck driver for Covenant Trucking. He enjoyed outdoor activity including kayaking, hiking and four-wheeling. His many friends will well remember surviving his many adventures.

Survivors include his wife, Phyllis Dietz Zell, a son Baron Von Zell of Lock Haven, a step-son, Billy Sellers of Lock Haven. Also surviving are three sisters, Jere Crissman, Jan Scerbo and Judy Smith, of Lock Haven. There are a number of nieces and nephews that also survive.   

Funeral services for Larry G. Zell will be held on Friday July 17, 2015 at 12:30 pm in the Yost-Gedon Funeral Home & Cremation Services LLC, 121 W. Main St. Lock Haven, PA. Officiating will be Pastor Mark Riley of the Lock Haven First Church of Christ.   Family and friends will be received in the funeral home Friday from 11:30 am until the time of services. Interment will be in the Rest Haven Memorial Park at the convenience of the family with full military services.

Memorials will be accepted to the Lock Haven Salvation Army 119 E. Church St. Lock Haven, PA.   Online thoughts and memories can be made at

I'm glad we got a chance to chat when I was last in Lock Haven. Fair winds and following seas, my fellow sailor. I'll see you on the other side.
