A. Jeanette Swisher, 91, of Kinley Hollow Rd., Mill Hall, PA. passed away July 19, 2017 at the Williamsport Regional Hospital. She was born January 17, 1926 in Loganton (Mt. Zion), to David F. and Bertha Munro Bixel.

Mrs. Swisher was a 1944 graduate of the Lock Haven High School and a 1947 graduate of the Williamsport Hospital School of Nursing while enrolled in the U.S. Cadet Nurse Corp.

She was past employed as a staff nurse at the Lock Haven Hospital and nine years at Susque-view Nursing Home. Since 1976 she has been a participant in the Nurses Health Study at the Harvard Medical School and volunteered as a Red Cross Nurse for local blood mobiles. Jeannette was a member of the Laurel Run United Methodist Church.

Jeanette enjoyed traveling and visited all fifty states and their capitals as well as Bermuda, Puerto Rico, England, Scotland, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Italy, Greece and Egypt.

She was united in marriage to her husband Ed on December 27, 1947 who preceded her in death July 3. 2000. Also a sister: Dorothy, A brother; David, and a grandson; Matthew McCraney.

She is survived by three sons; Doug of Mill Hall, Denis (Celeste) of Lock Haven, Gary (Sue) of Jersey Shore, two daughters: Jan (Nick) Barzona and Tina (Terry) McCraney of Lakeland, FL. Eight grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren.

Family and friends will be received in the Yost-Gedon Funeral Home & Cremation Services, LLC, 121 W. Main St., Lock Haven Sunday evening, July 23, 2017 from 6:00 - 8:00 PM. Private burial will be held at the Cedar Hill Cemetery at the convenience of the family with Pastor Paula K. Smith of the Laurel Run United Methodist Church and Pastor Bob Bixel of Pittsburgh officiating

In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Jeanette’s name to the Laurel Run United Methodist Church, 2899 Laurel Run Road, Beech Creek, PA 16822 or the charity of choice.

I don't know then rest of your family so I am addressing this to you. I thought your mom was an amazing woman. She was always on the go,always pleasant with me, and I enjoyed when she came into ths office. We always had nice things to chat about. Missed her when I retired.
