 Dorothy Edith Munro, 95, 31 John Deere Lane, passed away with her family by her side on Friday, September 22, 2017, at Geisinger Jersey Shore Hospital.

Born in Mill Hall on May 5, 1922, she was the daughter of the late George and Mabel (Laubscher) Englert.  Dorothy was a lifelong resident of Mill Hall and along with her husband raised their children in her childhood home.  Dorothy attended the Sugar Run School, Mill Hall.  She worked at Island Poultry for thirteen years. 

On December 15, 1941, in Lock Haven, she married the love of her life, Edgar Fred Munro, together they shared 75 years of marriage.    

Dorothy enjoyed word search puzzles, playing Bingo, sitting on her porch and quiet time with her husband.  She loved carrying on the tradition of preparing Sunday dinners and holiday meals for her entire family, as she always had an open door.  Dorothy had a warm heart and loved spending time with her many family and friends. 

Dorothy is survived by three boys, Edgar Fred Munro, Jr. and his significant other Chrissey  Motter of Mill Hall, Gary Munro and his fiancé Sharon Shinn of Mill Hall and Neal Munro and his wife Pam of Mill Hall; three daughters, Dorothy “Dolly” Saiers and her husband Robert of McElhattan, Mable White and her husband Harry of McElhattan and Ellen Myers (Twin sister with Mable) and her husband Daniel of Mill Hall;  Eight Grandsons, Paul White and his wife Deb of McElhattan, Daniel Myers and his wife Theresa of Blanchard, Chris White and his wife Maureen  of Clark Summit, Jeff Myers and his fiancé Mary Myers of Lock Haven, Neal  Munro Jr. and his wife Rhonda of Flemington, Gary L. and his wife Heather Munro Jr. of Flemington,  Jeremy Munro and his wife Hope of Beech Creek, Donnie Shinn of Montoursville; six granddaughters, Tina Harpster and husband Nevin of Mill Hall, Lori Ann Campbell and her husband David of Sunbury, Brenda Corter and her husband Dwayne of Beech Creek, Carrie Kessinger and her husband Shawn of TN, Tiffany Munro of Millersburg, Rebeca McDaniel and her husband Marcus of Montoursville; eleven great grandsons; twelve great granddaughters; two great-great grandsons; one great-great granddaughter; a brother-in-law, Alfred Munro and his wife Wanda of Jersey Shore; four sisters-in-law, Phyllis Englert, Edna Munro, Kay Munro and Betty Munro; and several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and cousins. 

In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Donald R. “Buck” White; a daughter-in-law, Twila C. Munro; a granddaughter, Lisa A. Munro; a great grandson, Daniel Confer Jr.; six brothers, Norman Englert and his wife Minnie, Clyde Englert and his wife Dorothy, Melvin Englert and his wife Virginia, Eugene Englert and two infant boys;  three sisters, Florence Paul and her husband Corson, Mary Fraiser and her husband Donald and Laura Evans and her husband Harry. Dorothy will be deeply missed by her many family members and friends. 

Funeral services for Dorothy E. Munro will be held on Thursday Sept. 28, 2017 at 11:00 AM in the Yost-Gedon Funeral Home & Cremation Services LLC.,  121 W. Main St., Lock Haven, PA.  Officiating will be Pastor Mark Riley of the Flemington First Church of Christ. Interment will be in the Swissdale Cemetery.  Family and friends will be received in the funeral home Wednesday evening from 6:00-8:00 PM and one hour prior to the services on Thursday. The family  suggest  in lieu of flowers, memorials can be made in Dorothy’s name to the Flemington Ambulance Association through the funeral home.
