Janet K. Thornton, 93, of Pine Ridge Drive, Lock Haven passed away Friday, March 15, 2019 in the Susque-View Home, Lock Haven. She was born June 2, 1925 in Lock Haven to Neil B. and Estelle Smith Kleckner.

She was united in marriage to Guy F. (Kicker) Thornton who preceded her in death.

Janet was a graduate of Lock Haven High School and was very active with planning the class reunions. She was a volunteer for many years for various organizations including the Lock Haven Hospital, The American Red Cross Blood Service, United Lutheran Church, and West Branch Drug and Alcohol Abuse Commission Board. Janet especially enjoyed watching Penn State sports and watching her granddaughter Gigi perform at local venues.

Survivors include three daughters; Terry (Richard Carpenito) Wallace of Wilmington, DE, Judith (Robert) Glomb of Annandale, VA, Sandra (Stanley) Kaluzny of Lock Haven, six grandchildren; Gabrielle Marlow, Bruce Wallace, Jason Glomb, Jennifer Hutchins, Wesley Kaluzny, and Gigi Kaluzny, and eight great-grandchilden.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Janet was preceded in death by a sister Marcia Verelli and a granddaughter, Robin Meloy.

Funeral Services for Janet K. Thornton will be held Tuesday, March 19, 2019 at 2:30 PM in the Yost-Gedon Funeral Home & Cremation Services, LLC, 121 W. Main Street, Lock Haven. Officiating will be Pastor Karl Runser of the United Evengelical Lutheran Church, Lock Haven. Family and friends will be received in the Yost-Gedon Funeral Home on Monday, March 18, 2019 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.

Internment will be in Dunnstown Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made in Janet's name to St. Jude's Children's Hospital or Planned Parenthood. Online thoughts and memories can be made at www.yost-gedonfuneralhome.com.
