Russell R. Zener, 66, of 224 Center St. Lock Haven, Pa.,  passed away July 22, 2019 at his home. He was born in Lock Haven,  June 1, 1953 to Kenneth M. Zener Jr. who survives, and the late Martha Dorey Zener. 

Russell was a 1971 graduate of the Lock Haven High School where he had been a member of the band. He was very gifted musically and played several instruments. He played the drums with a local band for a short time in his early years after graduating high school. He had been a member of United Evangelical Lutheran Church. Russell enjoyed getting together with family for picnics and holidays. He especially loved the youngsters and was a very jovial guy who always gave others joy.

In addition to his father, he is survived by his aunts, Nancy Crissinger and Gretta Russo and one uncle, Gilbert Zener. He is also survived be a number of cousins.

Funeral services for Russell R. Zener will be held on Friday July 26, 2019 at 11:00 AM in the Yost-Gedon Funeral Home & Cremation Services LLC, 121 W. Main St. Lock Haven, PA. Officiating will be Pastor Karl W. Runser of the United Lutheran Church, interment will be in the Rest Haven Memorial Park. Family and friends will be received in the Yost-Gedon Funeral Home & Cremation Services LLC, one hour prior to the services.

Hi Ken,

So sorry to hear about Russy. We had so much fun growing up together. I certainly enjoyed our talks in the summer time. Staying up late and just talking outside. The fun we had in the band with Jeff, Bill Dorey, Russ and myself. He will be missed.

I was sad to hear about russell passing,he was one of my best friends growing up.We would ride our bikes around town all hours of the day,he played drums,and I played piano,for our parents organizations.He always had a positive attitude,and a wonderful friend.
