Keith Allen McGinness Sr, 56, of Castanea passed away. He was born in Jersey Shore on July 25, 1963 to Wayne and Sara Johnson McGinness of Castanea.

Keith was a 1981 graduate of Clearfield High School and served in the United States Marine Corp. from 1981 to 1983. He worked as an Equipment Operator in the coal industry in Clearfield County. He owned McGinness Construction where he was an independent contractor and built homes in the U.S. and overseas. He also previously worked for Keystone Central School District as a Ground and Maintenance Supervisor. He was a social member of the Castanea Fire Company and the Lock Haven Moose. He was also a member of the Haneyville Baptist church in the 1990s and was baptized by Pastor John Welshans at Maranantha Church in Linden. Keith loved to hunt, fish and kayak.

In addition to his parents, survivors include one son; Keith Allen McGinness Jr of Lock Haven, one daughter: Keshia (Rick) Conway of Lock Haven, two brothers; Gary McGinness of McElhattan, Jeffrey (Crissy) McGinness of Williamsport; four grandchildren; Madison, Jolene, Jude McGinness, and Rilynne Conway and his paternal grandfather; Clifford Johnson of McElhattan.

Funeral services with full military honors for Keith Allen McGinness Sr will be held Friday, September 27, 2019 at 11:00 am in the Yost-Gedon Funeral Home & Cremation Services, LLC, 121 W. Main St., Lock Haven, PA 17745. Family and friends will be received in the funeral home one hour prior to the services. Officiating will be Pastor Luke Shover of the Haneyville Bible Church. Interment will be in the Linnwood Cemetery, McElhattan.

In lieu of flowers memorials can be made in Keith’s name to the Haneyville Bible Church, 16655 Coudersport Pike, Lock Haven, PA 17745

During my bar-tending days at my family bar the Clinton Hotel I got to know Keith. Great guy always ready and willing to give a helping hand during some difficult times for my family. Just want to give my deepest sympathies to Keith's family. He will be missed.
