Antoinette Rinella Gedon, 90, passed away peacefully March 9, 2020 at the Susque View Nursing Home in Lock Haven, where she has resided with excellent care for the past 4 years. She had previously resided in the Williamsport area.

Antoinette was born December 13, 1929 in Lock Haven to the late Anthony and Pauline Restivo Rinella Sr. She was married September 12, 1951 in the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Lock Haven, to George W. Gedon who preceded her in death on March 12, 2008.

Antoinette was a 1947 Graduate of the Immaculate Conception High School and a 1951 graduate of the Institute of Fine Art in Baltimore and had attended St. Mary’s College, Notre Dame, in Indiana where she studied clothing design. She had worked in the Better Dress Department of the former LL Stearns Department Store in Williamsport and had retired in 1993 after many years as a secretary for the Williamsport Area School District. Antoinette and her husband George together in 1978 started the Gedon Funeral Home on Northway Road in Williamsport, which they later sold in 1996.

Antoinette was a member of the St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Williamsport. She enjoyed being with her family, traveling, playing the piano and spending time with her cousins from Baltimore at Ocean City Maryland every summer since she was a young child and carried the tradition on with her children.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Teresa E. (Dale) Miller of Cogan Station and Mrs. Georgianne  (Kenneth) Lipscomb of Raleigh, NC; a son George A. (Cathy) Gedon of Lock Haven; a brother-in-law Edward (Alberta) Gedon of Lock Haven; 8 Grandchildren and 8 Great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Joseph, Phillip and Anthony Rinella Jr.

There will be no visitation, a memorial mass will be announced at a later date with private interment in the Saint Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Lock Haven.

The Yost-Gedon Funeral Home & Cremation Services, LLC, 121 West Main Street, Lock Haven, PA is in charge of the arrangement.

Dear Gedon Cousins,
So sorry to hear of the passing of your wonderful mother. She was always full of laughter and joy. We have many wonderful memories of happy summer days in Ocean City. My love and prayers are with you. Aunt Rosemary is sad but enjoying her memories with her "summer sister."
