Music by The Piano Brothers

On Monday, June 8, 2020, Virginia Marie (Hendershot) Snyder of Lock Haven, loving wife and mother of three children, passed from this life into the awaiting arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, at the age of 60. Ginny was born on June 30, 1959 in Milton, PA to the late Eugene B. and Joyce M. (Showers) Hendershot.

On June 17, 1977, she married the love of her life, Kirk Douglas Snyder, enjoying 43 wonderful years together. They raised three children, Samuel (Karen), Angela, and Timothy (Ashley). She was the beloved Mimi to six grandchildren, Gabriella, Caleb, Makenna, Annalise, James, and Jonathan. She is also survived by two brothers, Ronald (Debi) Hendershot and Jeffrey (Jenny) Hendershot, two sisters, Debbie (Wayne) Liebscher and Rebecca Hendershot, and niece Lindsey (Jeff) Sachs, and nephews, Stephen Liebscher, Joshua (Jenna) Hendershot, and Thomas (Sarah) Hendershot.

She graduated from Milton High School and enjoyed various employment opportunities, most recently in the Keystone Central School District and at Lock Haven University.

Ginny lived with a passion for her faith, devotion to her family, and loyalty to her friends -- serving, nurturing, and blessing in countless ways. She loved to cook for others and was constantly looking for ways to help anyone in need. She will be missed dearly by her family and the many whose lives she touched with her generous, kind spirit.

Visitation at 3:00 PM and Celebration of Life to follow at 5:00 PM will be held on Sunday, June 14th, at The Door Fellowship, 470 Pine Street, Williamsport. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, June 15th, at the Rest Haven Memorial Park, 47 Rest Haven Drive, Lock Haven.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to House of the Lord Fellowship, PO Box 235, 201 West Main Street, Lock Haven, PA 17745. Ginny was such a great person, friend, and co-worker. She made my time in the Dean’s Office enjoyable and such a smooth transition – I would’ve been completely lost without her assistance. Always kind, positive, willing to listen, and share a joke – she took pride in doing everything to the best of her ability, and so much of her hard work went unnoticed by most. She loved her family, The Lord, and helping others… which was evident in everything that she did. She will be greatly missed and leaves behind a great legacy, great memories, and a void that will not be filled.

Ginny was such a kind, loving person and a bright spot on campus. She was my supervisor for a while, and I still saw her weekly on campus. She touched so many of us, both coworkers and students. She will be greatly, greatly missed. I am sending prayers for comfort to all her family and friends.

For since we believe that Jesus died and was raised to life again, we also believe that when Jesus returns, God will bring back with him the believers who have died. I Thessalonians 4:14

There is no doubt that she is in the arms of her Lord.

We pray that the peace and comfort of The Lord Jesus will surround her family and loved ones during this difficult time. Our hearts and condolences are with all the lives she touched.

I will miss Ginny so much. I cannot think of anyone more unfailingly kind, caring, and gentile, across all situations. We were so lucky to have her at LHU and her absence will be felt hugely. Thank you for your friendship, Ginny.

I am in deep shock to learn that you have left us so suddenly. You have been lighting the corridors of Akeley Hall, the entire University, and the City Lock Haven with your smile and wisdom. You always stop what you are doing to answer our questions, or say hello to the visitors in your office. Then, you invite us to take a candy or two, even if we had picked two candies an hour earlier. I pray that your family will gain strength to endure this loss. May the Almighty God rest your soul in eternal peace.

I had the high honor of working with Ginny this past year. She made my move into the Dean's office easy and pleasant. She knew everything and everyone and I soon learned how much she was loved and respected by all. Her passing was a great shock to everyone and I am praying and sending love to her family. Ginny is one of the most amazing among people I have had the pleasure of meeting. It was indeed wonderful to work with such a dedicated professional AND extraordinarily patient and kind person!
