James Paul Myers left the planet on Saturday, July 30, 2022 to join the Universal flow. His spirit is carried on by his two children, one grandchild, one surviving sibling and his wife, Barbara.
Jim and Barbara were born in Randolph County, West Virginia. Jim was a star athlete, basketball and football primarily, but went to university on an academic scholarship. He completed his undergraduate studies at West Virginia University and his Masters Degree in Forestry at Penn State University.
Upon graduation from Penn State, Jim and Barbara moved to California where Jim worked for the United States Forest Service in the Stanislaus National Forest. After seven years of service, Jim accepted another job as a State Forest Management Forester with the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) Bureau of Forestry. Just before retiring from the DCNR, Jim started B&J Christmas Tree Farm with his friend Bud. It was a thriving business in Lock Haven, PA for many years.
Jim was a dedicated outdoorsman and fisherman. He was an avid reader and music buff who sang and played the guitar. Jim had an interest in and ability to discuss everything from arts and science to geography and the natural world. There was a brilliance to his innate charm and wonderment. “Amazing,” he would say. Amazing, “indeed.” We miss him and love him dearly.
