Richard C. Bower, 80, of Mill Hall, PA., passed away August 19, 2021 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born in Mill Hall, PA, June 30, 1941 to the late Ralph and Lois Butler Bower. Richard was married to Marylee Overdorf Bower who preceded him in death on December 15, 2009. He worked most of his life and retired as a handyman for Bob Raible in Mill Hall doing repair work and general maintenance. Rich found joy in hunting at his camp in Keating, riding his 4-wheeler, fishing and especially spending time with his family.
Survivors include his daughter: Christine Bower ( Wayde Brookens-whom Rich called his "best buddy") of Mill Hall, step daughters: Crystal (Bob) Everett of Lock Haven and Pamela (Charles) Eichenlaub of Mill Hall , also surviving are two grandchildren: Branee Martin (Gary Rausch) of Mill Hall, and Derek (Amanda) Swartz of Jersey shore, three step-grandchildren: Charles Eichenlaub Jr of Mill Hall, Amanda (Christopher) Force of Lock Haven , and Samantha (Mitchell) Parker of Beech Creek, one great-great grandchild: Gracie Rausch, seven step-great-grandchildren: Dillon and Willow Eichenlaub, Ariel and Luke Force, Addalynn, Landree, and Hudson Parker. Also surviving are Brothers and Sisters: Toner (Bonnie) Bower of Port Matilda, Robert (Deborah) Bower of Pa Furnace, George (Jamie) Bower of Port Matilda, Harold (Cindy) Bower of Lock Haven, Harvey Bower of Lock Haven, and Marie (Nick) Murray of Methuen, MA.
Richard was preceded in death by Brothers and Sisters: Margaret Marr, Rose Pursel, John Bower, Kathryn Allen, Sarah Korman, Anna Mae Bower, Lois Irene Brookens, Carol Cox-Bower, Ralph Bower, Calvin Bower, Larry Bower, and Mary Jane Bower. Also his first great-granddaughter TaeLynn Oliver.
The family would like to give our thanks and our sincerest appreciation to UPMC Hospice and Amber Evok for all of their support in helping fulfill all of Richard's final wishes.
Funeral services for Richard C. Bower will be held on Tuesday, August 24, 2021 at 10:30 AM in the Yost-Gedon Funeral Home & Cremation Services LLC, 121 W. Main St. Lock Haven, PA. Officiating will be Pastor Sue Wilson Radel of the Forest Baptist Church in Winburne, PA. Interment will be in the Sunnyside Cemetery.
Family and friends will be received in the Yost-Gedon Funeral Home & Cremation Services LLC., 121 W. Main St. Lock Haven, PA., Monday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
