John E. "Jack" Irvin, age 82 of 55 Crestmont Dr. Lock Haven, PA died August 29, 2009 at the Manor Care Health Services in Jersey Shore, PA where he had been a resident.Jack was born in Lock Haven, August 6, 1927 and was the son of the late Escoe J. and Carrie Bechdel Irvin.He was united in marriage December of 1990 to Helen Harrau Temons Irvin, who survives.Jack had graduated from the Lock Haven High School, was a veteran of the US Navy, having served during WWII and was a member of the Flemington First Church of Christ.He had worked for the former Adam C. Dickey as bookkeeper for a number of years. He later went to work for the Clinton County Housing Authority, retiring as the executive director after 23 years of service .After retiring he served on the Housing Authority Board of Directors for a number of years. Jack had been a member of the BPOE #182 Lock Haven Elks and a member of the Son's of Italy.Surviving in addition to his wife Helen are three step sons: Michael and his wife, Charlena Temons of Vaughn, Washington; Mark and wife Pamela Temons of Williamsport and Brian Temons of Auburn, NY. Also surviving are 11 Step-grandchildren.He was preceded in death by a half brother, Raymond F. Irvin.Private memorial services and interment for John E. "Jack" Irvin will be held at the convenience of the family.Memorials will be accepted to the Flemington First Church of Christ or the Saint Jude's Children Hospital through the funeral home.The Yost-Gedon Funeral Home, 121 West Main Street, Lock Haven is in charge of the arrangements.Online condolences may be made to www.yost-gedonfuneralhome.com
