Grace Tomb Somerville, age 90, a resident of the Susque-View Home, formerly of 10 Collegewood Ave., Castanea, passed away August 10, 2014 at Susque-View Home.

She was born in Antes Fort, PA on September 29, 1923 and was the daughter of the late Harry Carlton and Hazel E. Breon Tomb.

Grace was united in marriage April 9, 1944 to John W. Somerville Sr., who preceded her in death, September 3, 2009.

Grace was a 1941 graduate of the Jersey Shore High School, and a member of the Lock Haven First Church of Christ. She had retired in 1985 from the Lock Haven City Treasurers Office as a payroll clerk, after working there for over 18 years.

She was a member of the Colonel Hugh White DAR, a member of the Rowena Order of the Eastern Star and currently a member of the Ivanhoe Chapter #28 Eastern Star of Jersey Shore.

Survivors include a son, John W. (Sandra) Somerville Jr., of Lock Haven, a daughter, Beth (Harry) McMurtrie of Avis. Also surviving are five grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Merrill C. and F. Ray Tomb, and two sisters, Geraldine Krupa and Kathleen Hansen.

Funeral services for Grace Tomb Somerville will be held on Thursday, August 14, 2014 at 11:00 am in the Yost-Gedon Funeral Home & Cremation Services LLC, 121 West Main Street, Lock Haven, PA.

Officiating will be Pastor Steve Salmon of the Lock Haven First Church of Christ.

Interment will be in the Jersey Shore Cemetery.

Family and friends will be received in the funeral home, Thursday morning from 10 am until the time of services at 11:00.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions will be accepted to the Lock Haven First Church of Christ, 330 North Vesper Street, Lock Haven.

Beth, For the short time I got to know your mom I thought she was a sweet heart. I am sorry for your loss. Keep in mind that the Lord gave us a great mind within which we store those wonderful memories of loved ones. Take care and God bless you and your family
