Phyllis S. Eggler, 84, of 68 Cemetery St. Woolrich, Pa passed away Sept. 7, 2014 at the Lock Haven Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation unit surrounded by her family. She was born in Jersey Shore, Pa. August 10, 1930 to the late Harry B. and Claire Forcey Shields. Phyllis was united in marriage to Donald L. Eggler Sr. Nov. 14, 1953 who survives.

Mrs. Eggler was a graduate of the Jersey Shore High School, she had worked for the Woolrich Woolen Mills, The Clinton County Courthouse, Piper Aircraft as a secretary and had last worked at Allstate Insurance where she retired. Phyllis had also been a member of the Woolrich Community Church in Woolrich where she had served as a Sunday School teacher and had been active on numerous committees. She enjoyed bowling, sewing, boating fishing camping and spending quality time with her children and grandchildren.

Surviving in addition to her husband Donald is a son, Donald L. (Maggie) Eggler Jr., of Mill Hall, PA and a daughter, Carla (William) Baney III, of Lock Haven. A Granddaughter, Elizabeth (Zack) Maffett of Woolrich and a grandson, William E.(Nikki Duck/ fiancée ) Baney of New York.

Phyllis was one of 10 children. She is survived by a brother, Dale Shields and a sister, Olive Miller.

Memorial services for Phyllis S. Eggler will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2014 at 11:00 am in the Woolrich Community Church, 1080 Park Ave Woolrich, PA. Officiating will be Pastor Bruce Wallace. Interment will be in the Woolrich Cemetery. Family and friends will be received in the church one hour prior to the services at 11:00.

In lieu of flowers, memorials will be accepted to the Alzheimer’s Association, 63 N. Franklin St. Wilks Barre, Pa 18701 or the Clinton County SPCA, 33 Mill Hill Rd. Lock Haven, PA.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Yost-Gedon Funeral Home 121 W. Main St., Lock Haven, PA.

Uncle Don, Donald Jr. & Carla, our heartfelt thoughts and prayers are with you during this sad time. I personally will always remember Aunt Phyllis fondly and have many memories of her kindhearted generosity and beautiful smile.

She leaves behind a wonderful family and I know you will all be a great source of comfort and support to one another.
