Music by The Piano Brothers

On May 1, 2018 Stephen Montarsi of Lock Haven died at the too-young age of 59.

Stephen was born on August 30, 1958 to Gisele Valada Montarsi and the late Francis “Monty” Montarsi. He is survived by his brother Francis “Monk” Montarsi and his wife Emily Montarsi. Stephen most recently worked at L.W. Peters Disposal where, until he passed, he had the pleasure of spending his work days with his beloved, late sister Yvonne Peters.

Stephen was better known as Dad to Cara Montarsi and Gina Hundt. They move forward in the world knowing their father was proud of them and loved them very much. He was affectionately called Poppy by Sophia Dorsey and Pop Pop Fish (due to his love of fishing and the water, in general) by Aberlin Hundt. His nieces and nephew knew him as Uncle Steve. And for his cousin, Gio Montarsi, and his best friend Paul Sampsell, he was Brother.

Stephen will be greatly missed by his family and friends. We will think of him often and with love. Especially when hearing Pink Floyd on the radio, or enjoying a plate of spaghetti and meatballs (which will not be anywhere near as good as his), or when chuckling to a bad joke - Why don’t cannibals eat clowns? Because they taste funny.

In keeping with Stephen's wishes, there will be no funeral. A memorial service will be announced at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made in Stephen's name to the American Cancer Society.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Yost-Gedon Funeral Homes & Cremation Services,  LLC, 121 W. Main St., Lock Haven.

Cara, Gina, Sophia and the rest of the family, you have my sincere condolences. I haven't spoken to anyone in the family for a while so this is my first time hearing about this. Stephen was a great man and a loving father. He will truly be missed. Rest in paradise my friend.
