Jim  was a good friend from childhood in the hill section of Lock Haven which we faithfully patrolled with a substantial armory of bb guns, pea shooters, and slingshots for many years. It was with great pleasure that we all reconnected in recent years to relive those times.  Jim had  our profound respect for all he was able to accomplish in his life and we will truly and sorely miss him.
Our sincere condolences to his family......

We are going to miss Jim he was a good person.  I remember talking to him at the playground across the street from Weis store in Lock Haven.  He was working to make the park a great place for kids.  That was a special thing to do for kids that he might not have known.  A lot of people might not have cared about the park for kids, but he did.  He was a special person that will be missed.

Jim was a very good man and a very kind, nice guy. Though we didn’t know Jim for a “long time”, we felt as though we did, from the first time we met him. (We met Jim through his brother Dick, who was a dear friend of ours, and the Best Man at our wedding.) We went to Beech Creek in 2015 with a furniture piece from Dick’s estate auction, which would find a home with Jim’s daughter Kelly. During our visit Jim invited us to his place, and he made us feel so welcome. We were so impressed with his cars and his garage, all of which Jim was so proud! Jim set us up on a good tour of Kelly and Lee’s farm, a highlight of our trip. We saw that Jim was the definition of a family man, a guy for whom family came first. We are so happy to have met Jim, a wonderful person. We wish we had a lot more time with him.  We wish we could have attended Jim’s service. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and many friends. Sincerely, Katy and Bill Turner
